With the tradition beginning in 2008, the Annual Leap for Green Family Sustainability Fair strives to enrich communal knowledge and understanding of environmental practices through activities for kids and adults. Their goal is to raise general awareness of local sustainable resources – including volunteer opportunities right here in our bustling community of Mercer Island.
Held every year in April, this Mercer Island event is free to attend, and this year’s theme is “ON THE MOVE” and focuses on getting around the Island (and region) in a more sustainable fashion.
Enjoy live entertainment, including Yaamba Marimba and The Bus Boys, arts and crafts, learning to garden, a Luther Burbank wetland tour, adorable farm animals, electric bike demos, and information on local transit updates and options. Explore our local community and our sustainability resources, while petting farm animals and learning how each component is part of the bigger picture.
This fun-fueled event runs from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and is indoors and out of the rain – though enjoying the sunshine is highly encouraged! Here’s the rundown:
