Registration is now open for the City’s Youth and Family Services Department for another summer of popular volunteer opportunities for Mercer Island School District students. There are two opportunities available, including the Summer Volunteer Program, which is open to 6th and 7th graders, and the Volunteer Outreach in Communities Everywhere program, which is open to 8th through 11th grade students.
Both programs are excellent choices to gain community and social awareness and work directly with populations around the Greater Seattle Area. As part of the eight-week summer program, volunteers from over fifty community organizations share an accumulative 10,000 hours each summer to help other local communities.
Summer Volunteer Program participants are expected to commit to at least four projects each summer, while VOICE participants are expected to commit to an extended eight projects. Take a peek at possible non-profit partners for Summer 2018 projects.
Registration closes on April 20th, so be sure to get your application in!
