This weekend, you are invited to eat your way through Seattle! The Bite of Seattle will be taking place this weekend, featuring over 60 restaurants and pop-up vendors. Along with food, you will find Craft Beer and Cider Tasting, 80+ live bands, live cooking demonstrations, a free movie night and other fun activities!
This food festival has it all! From Ethnic cuisine to All-American favorites, you can try something new or go back to your favorite dish from the prior year. “Just a Bite” items will be $3.75 or less and combo plates will be $12 or less. A few of the many featured restaurants include Pho Cyclo Café, Wicked Pie Pizza, Warthog BBQ Restaurant and Catering, Biringer Farm, and Simply Soulful. As for the 2018 specialty foods lineup, you will find Deep Fried Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches, Elephant Ears, Roasted Corn on the Cob, and even Liquid Nitrogen Coated Cereal!
The Alley, a local restaurant showcase will benefit Food Lifeline. Food Lifeline is the state’s largest hunger relief organization, which redirects surplus food to food banks, shelters and meal programs. For $20, you can enjoy a plate of six large bites. It wouldn’t be a festival without some live music! There will be 3 live music stages with over 80 bands performing. With a wide variety of music, you will not want to stop dancing, or eating! The Fountain Lawn Stage will feature Top 40 Dance, R&B, Funk, Soul, Reggae and Rock. The Mural Stage will feature Classic Rock, Tribute Bands, Rock, Country Grunge and Blues. Lastly, you can catch Alternative, Americana, Funk, jazz and Reggae at the Fisher Green Stage.
If you enjoy watching the cooking shows, you might not want to miss The Bite Cooks! Local chefs will perform cooking demonstrations of their favorite dishes. You will even have the chance to take a copy of the recipe home to give it a try! To heat things up a bit, local chefs will also compete in a mystery cook-off. Chefs will be given 3 mystery ingredients, a few basic cooking staples and a time limit to make their dish. It is up to the audience to judge the chef’s entrée to select a winner!
Are you looking for something to do this evening? Grab a blanket and a bite and enjoy watching a movie under the stars! For free admission, you can watch the popular vote “A League of Their Own” this evening beginning at 8:30pm at The Mural Lawn Stage at Seattle Center.
