Hidden Restaurants in Seward Park, Seattle

An area named after its namesake, 300-are park, Seward Park is part of Seattle’s South Side area and offers a plethora of activity along Lake Washington’s shores. Each Seattle neighborhood has its own share of hidden treasures, but the Seward Park community of often glossed over for larger neighboring communities, including Columbia City and Beacon Hill.

Though many consider anything North of South Orcas Street part of Seattle’s Lakewood community, the area’s little downtown area resides along Wilson Ave South, between South Dawson Street and South Hudson Street. Today, we’ll be discussing the quaint eateries nestled on this three-block stretch.

Bent Burgers is an amazing and unique, comic-themed burger joint in Seattle’s south end. Just a casual burger place, their menu includes comic-book inspiration for burgers named “The Superman”, their classic, most basic burger, and “Batman & Robin”, which is their version of a mushroom burger.

Though the torch was “handed off” earlier this year, Pizzuto’s Italian Café has remained an amazing neighborhood go-to restaurant. Serving classic Italian dishes, including Puttanesca and Gnocchi, they’ve been serving the Seward Park neighborhood for many-a decades, and will continue serving-up delicious eats for many years to come.

Serving a little bit of everything Seattle has to offer, Raconteur remains one of Seward Park’s favorite café and bars – and how could it not be? It shares a building with Third Place Books! Their menu’s inspired by tons of cultures, including German, Mediterranean, Mexican, and classic American foods.

That last on this list isn’t so forgotten – in fact, since they’ve moved in they’ve become a favorite hub for coffee-goers. Café Vita remains one of Seattle’s locally-owned and independent coffee roasters, with other locations in Los Angeles, New York City, and Portland.

So, whether you’re looking for something quick because you’re on-the-go, a sit-down experience, or just a morning jolt of caffeine, Seward Park has a few favorites to choose from.
