Issaquah is beautiful. If you’ve never walked down Front Street and soaked in the nostalgic surroundings of Olde Town, then you’ve missed out. Issaquah is where I suggest you go. The old Shell station, now museum and party rental venue, is always a hit! In downtown Issaquah, not only will you find boundless eateries to choose from, but area has so many kid-friendly options.
Local Insight From LIS BROWN
“As to my favorite stores, we have spent years (decades actually I think) shopping at the White Horse Toy store in Gilman Village where I always find unique and creative toys there for kids of all ages – truly it is my favorite toy store of any I have shopped! It was an annual tradition for my 4 kids to go with Grandma in advance of their August birthday’s… When visiting we always had to make an obligatory stop at the ever popular candy/ice cream store, Paisley Parlour, for an ice cream or soda fountain treat (no matter the weather) and of course some candy to take home for later. Stopping here AFTER the toy store is especially critical as it may be the only enticement compelling enough to tear the kids away from all the treasures they had just discovered at White Horse Toys… (Grandma had this process down to a science.)”
