The Seattle Home Show

Don’t miss the 20th Anniversary of the Seattle Home Show this weekend, at the CenturyLink Field Event Center. The housing extravaganza is the Northwest’s largest consumer home show featuring everything you can think of for the home – indoors and out!

Since its start in 1939, the Seattle Home Show has proudly maintained its continuity with the same family ownership and management. The father and uncle of W.G. “Bill” McDonald were the original founders of the show. Further into the Great Depression, these two brothers were instructed to produce “Back to Work” events as part of the effort to recover. They eventually worked with home building trades which led them to their first home shows. The first Seattle Home Show, opened by Eleanor Roosevelt and William Randolph Hearst, took place in the Old Civic Auditorium. In 1951, son and nephew Bill McDonald took over the management until retiring in 2002. Since then, Bill’s daughter has stepped in to continue the tradition.

You will find everything for your home, from building products, landscape displays, arts and crafts, home décor and more. You can even catch cooking demonstrations throughout the weekend. A few of the many featured exhibitors include Better Builders, Cabinet Renovations, Deck Pro, Kitchen Plus, Lowe’s, Protec Security and Seattle Doors and Closets. You can check out the complete list of exhibitors and their booth number online. In addition to booths and cooking demonstrations, you can also sit in on a variety of seminars. You will find seminars varying from “Ten Steps to a Quality Remodel” to “How to Choose the Right Contractor”. To best plan your visit, you can take a look at the scheduled seminars online today.

The admission for adults is $13, $9 for seniors (60+), $3 for juniors (7-15) and children under 7 are free. When you purchase your tickets online, you will receive $5 parking at CenturyLink Field Event Center Parking Garage and Safeco Field Garage. The show will run from 10:00am – 6:00pm Friday, 10:00am – 6:00pm on Saturday and 10:00am – 5:00pm on Sunday. Whether you are looking to renovate your home, decorate your home, landscape your yard or are just interested in home tips, this home show will have something for you!
