Are you scrambling to make plans to ring in the New Year? If you are looking for a last minute plan that won’t disappoint, look no further than the fireworks at the Space Needle. Whether you are watching from the Seattle Center, the Space Needle, Alki Beach, Kerry Park or a nearby house, this show will not disappoint.
For the first time ever, guests in the Space Needle will be able to watch fireworks launch beneath them on The Loupe- the world’s first and only revolving glass floor. The firework show will begin at 11:59pm and will end with a spectacular finale at 12:09am. Also new this year, the festivities will include a 30-minute musically choreographed lighting show that will begin at 10:00pm. Lighting equipment will radiate beautiful colors and beams of light across the Needle and Seattle sky. These lighting effects will also be included in the firework display. If you plan watch the show from a house, you can tune in to KISS 106.1 FM to listen to the 30-minute light show and firework display soundtrack.
Local Insight from Nancy LaVallee
“It’s a mass of humanity but what a great way to bring in the New Year with everyone else – high spirits – dress warmly and bring a beverage!”
More than 20,000 people are expected to gather on the Seattle Center campus to watch the 25th Annual T-Mobile New Years at the Needle show. If you will be at home and can’t catch the view, King 5 Television will feature live broadcast coverage beginning at 11:35pm.
