Seattle’s 48th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Wear your green this weekend and don’t miss out on Seattle’s 2019 St. Patrick’s Day Parade. At 12:20 pm, on Saturday, March 16th, the Irish flag will be raised in front the of King County Administration Building, followed by trumpeters playing the Irish and US National Anthems. At 12:30 pm, the St. Patrick’s Day Parade Grand Marshal, Joe McDermott and the Honorary Parade Grand Marshal, Nicole Russeff, will lead the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade up 4th Avenue, traveling north from James Street to Westlake Park. At Westlake, participants are welcome to travel at no cost via the Monorail to the Seattle Center for closing ceremonies at 2:30 pm during the Irish Festival in the Armory.

From 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm, you can continue the celebration at the Seattle Center Irish Festival at the Seattle Center Armory. This festival will also take place Sunday, March 17th from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. The festival offers music, singing, dancing, workshops, children’s activities and a variety of booths selling Irish and Celtic products. This festival also features demonstrations, samplings and discussions on Irish cuisine and beverages including traditional Irish soda bread and tea, potato pancakes, Irish bacon and sausages. From Irish art, photography, historical exhibits and genealogy workshops, this festival has it all! Whether you are celebrating your Irish roots or looking to learn more about the Irish heritage, this is a fun festival for you and the whole family. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
