This weekend, you can explore the beautiful Mercer Slough Nature Park by water. Bellevue park rangers will lead a 3-hour canoe trip from Enatai Beach Park. Aside from having the opportunity to see otters, herons, turtles and other wildlife, you will learn how the ecosystem functions as you travel across the 320 acre wetland. With up to 3 people per canoe, you will paddle the total distance of 4 miles in 3 hours.
The program starts at Enatai Beach Park boathouse at 8:30am and you must plan to arrive in time for the safety talk in order to participate. Prior canoeing experience is suggested. Children must be at least 5 years old to participate, and one adult must be present for every two children or youth. The cost for the canoe trip is $16 for a Bellevue resident and $18 for a non-Bellevue resident. Rain or shine, these trips will continue!
If unable to make the trip this weekend, guided canoe trips will continue every Sunday through Labor Day weekend. You can register online today or call 425-452-2565.
