Mercerwood Neighborhood of Mercer Island

Home to some spectacular Eastern views, Mercerwood was the first post WW2 tract development built on the island. The prevalent home style in this neighborhood dates from the 1950s and early 1960s. Mercer Island High School, City Hall, Police Department, Library, Stroum Jewish Community Center and the Mercerwood Shore Club is located along the eastern shoreline.

The Stroum Jewish Community Center campus includes a fitness center, racquetball courts, indoor running track, gymnasium, indoor swimming pool, auditorium, children’s library, kitchen, classrooms, and meeting rooms. The Mercerwood Shore Club offers year around amenities including a 6000 sq. ft. clubhouse, weight room, fitness studio, competitive 25 meter pool, high dive, and four outdoor tennis courts.  The Shore Club also has over 500 feet of waterfront property, which includes a large grass picnic area, built in BBQs, fire pits, sandy beach, a playground, a swimming area and boat launch with 36 moorage slips.
